Murtala Mohammed once was a Nigerian military head of state and later President of Nigeria on 30th July 1975.
During the days in power, he gained a good reputation for being humble, which is totally opposite to other authorities who boasted about their wealth and always traveled with the sirens blaring. What he did was things a true leader is supposed to do. He always tried to step out of the attention of the public, hence always traveling incognito.

Late Murtala Mohammed Assassination in 1976
This assassination stole Murtala Mohammed’s life, then 37 in his Mercedes-Benz saloon, after an unsuccessful attempt to bring him and Lieutenant Akintunde Akinsehinwa to life made by Lieutenant Col Buka Suka Dimka.
The black saloon now is exhibited in the National Museum in Lagos. The traces of the old-day bitter incident are still on the car which is holed by more than 20 bullets.
The car is an attractive exhibit which draws two thousand tourists to the museum each month.

All above are surely enough to claim the car is the most well-maintained vehicle in Nigeria.
The picture below will attest to that.
