Lamborghini Urus 2020 model review

Lamborghini Urus 2020 model review

Just writing about this car makes me happy!

Actually, I have problems calling it a car, because the word ‘car’ does not capture the raging monster that Lamborghini has decided to bless the roads with!

Maybe the real word should be ‘supercar’ or since it’s an SUV, SuperSUV.”

The Lamborghini Urus is actually the world’s first super SUV.

Ok, I am calm.

Let’s go. Just prepare to be wowed by this vehicle!

First, it weighs 2.2 tonnes and top speed is 190 mph (305 km/h) which makes it one of the fastest SUVs in production in the world!

Exterior

The exterior design of this vehicle can be summarized in one word: MENACING!

Characteristic Lamborghini shapes abound, ranging from the Y-shapes to the hexagons. They are plentiful at the grille and rear of the vehicle, all giving that typical Lamborghini-feel, even though it is an SUV. The single silhouette line is awesome and the way the rear curves dangerously downwards just takes your breath away.

The front bonnet also has a proud center peak, Lambo style. The proportions of this SUV are extreme, with a lot of curves and angles and it is a bit wider than other cars in its category.

From whichever angle you look at it, this super SUV displays strength and solidity. It has an intimidating look that is at the same time loveable and absolutely unique.

Engine and Transmission

The Lamborghini Urus boasts of a twin-turbo V8 engine. This engine can and does produce a humongous 614 horsepower and 627 pounds of torque!

Hei GOD!

It goes from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and then goes a quarter-mile (402m) in 11 seconds if you are driving at 120 mph.

The engine rumbles deeply when it is idle and when you go full throttle, it gives an aggressively beautiful howl that seems to scare all other cars in this category away.

As if that is not enough, all of this power is then coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

In case you were thinking it will not be able to halt efficiently, then you were wrong. This car can go from 70 mph to a stop in just about 150 ft. The Lamborghini Urus uses the largest carbon-ceramic brakes in the world and we can both agree that you would need it to bring this 2.2-tonne beast to a complete stop!

Driving experience

Driving the Lamborghini Urus is an experience on its own.

The 2020 Lamborghini Urus comes with 6 driving modes: Strada (street), Sport, Corsa (track), Terra (dirt), Sabbia (sand), and Neve (snow) driving modes.

The sixth which is called Ego, allows the driver to combine different settings for the steering, gearbox, exhaust note, and suspension.

Just gives that feeling of you being in charge there.

The Terra, Sabbia, and Neve driving modes are only available in the off-road package that is offered separately. Driving in these modes increases air suspension by about 40mm. The other features in the off-road package include front and rear bumpers that have been modified.

It features all-wheel-drive and rear steering modes that can turn the rear wheels up to +/- 3 degrees.

While driving around corners, the active roll stability control provides a seamless turn, even at high speeds.

Did we also mention that the Urus runs on Pirelli p Zero tires (standard) which are max performance tires that would be able to handle the power and provide a strong grip for this vehicle? There are also other tire options that are also outrageously suited for this vehicle.

Interior specs and features

The interior of the Lamborghini Urus is something else!

Seats

It can comfortably seat 4 or 5 people, depending on the configuration that is selected. The interior of this vehicle has a jet fighter theme and so the car seems to swallow you into the cabin when you enter. Comfortable leather seats, aluminum trim, some carbon fiber are all well placed inside this vehicle. It gives the luxury vehicle feel, even though it is built to be more. Lamborghini ensured that they doused all fears of compromising the interior quality of the car because of the SUV and rugged feel of this car.

Features

The start button is placed under a red flip cover and the gear selector, together with the engine mode ‘anima’ selector all provide an industrial feel, like you were really controlling a jet on the road. But this time, you would be controlling a large Super SUV with just a lever.

Space

There is enough legroom as well as headroom in the Lamborghini Urus, even for six-footers. There are also pockets here and there so you can keep your little items for the road.

With the rear seats in place, you get a decent 616 liters of space (21.7 cubic ft) and with the rear seats folded, you get an enormous 1596 liters (56 cubic ft) of space!

This makes this car a bi-functional SUV that can be used for carrying your luggage and even school runs, even though it is a supercar.

Exactly what Lamborghini was trying to do here, create an unusual fusion of power and practicality.

We have to give it to them, it is not every day you see such on the road!

Infotainment & safety

When it comes to infotainment, the Lamborghini Urus, in the same vein of extremities, has two touch screens that basically control every function of the car. It also has an 8 speaker audio system that allows USB and Bluetooth Connection. 21-inch wheels are standards, but 22 or 23 inches are also available

For safety features, the Urus does not disappoint too. It has front and rear parking sensors, anti-theft alarm (But really, in Nigeria, why would you steal a Lamborghini Urus?), front collision mitigation, and lane departure warning.

It has options for surround-view camera, night vision, and adaptive (hands-free) cruise control, among others.

Eco friendly

Another very impressive feature is that it has lower gas emissions than every other car in its category. This and other features definitely make this one of the types of SUVs you should buy in Nigeria– if you can afford it though.

The Lamborghini Urus is the crazy fusion of a supercar that is absolutely mind-blowing on the road and exceptional off-road.

It is the kind of car you can go to a presidential dinner with and also go in to visit your village people.

Well, I hope you come back sha!
